Walking is Still the Best

Walking is still the single best all-around form of exercise. Even beyond the fact that a) you’re a super stud who does killer hard workouts, walking more is still good for your joints, digestion, mind, stress, and many other things; or b) you hate exercise but are not necessarily lazy and would really enjoy getting out and moving around more.

I just wanted to remind everyone that walking 8000 steps per day is a good baseline goal, 10k is ultimately where you want to be, and that 12,000 is gold star perfect. 1 mile usually contains 2000 to 2500 steps but you’d get many more steps throughout the day if you went for a specific 2 mile walk, outside of your normal moving around steps. Walking 2 miles per day will help you live on average 10 years longer.

This was a fun walk I took on the beach in Port Douglas, Australia.
